Hillary contacted me about a year prior to her engagement photos & maybe even before she got engaged She stayed in contact with me & made sure I was available for her wedding date next summer. {She knows how to make a photographer feel good!!} Her & her fiance, Bryce were so easy & fun to photograph. We went to their wedding location at the winery & took some photos right before sunset. I will leave out the part about them locking their only set of keys in the car at the ball field & getting yelled at by campus police dispatch haha. We were racing for time to make it to the vineyard & I was so thrilled we got there just in time for these gorgeous shots.

I don’t know what happened from the time I posted my last post in JULY until now but WHOA NELLY! This has been an incredible year for me and my business. I have been keeping extremely busy with portrait sessions & weddings that this poor blog & my Facebook page have suffered with some pretty amazing sessions.

So let’s not waste anymore time & get down to business & show you Kristen’s senior photos!! Kristen is such a sweetheart & we had such a fun afternoon running around town for her session.

I know I say this with all my clients, but isn’t she gorgeous!? She is so photogenic & made my job pretty easy

I think some bikers just drove by & honked & hollered at her. I love her smile here!

When she pulled these killer heels out of her car, I yelled with excitement! She’s a shoe girl just like me

Stephanie & Geoffrey {Engagement}

I had the pleasure of taking photos for Stephanie & Geoffrey for their recent engagement. They have been high school sweethearts & are still very much in love. Engagement sessions are so much fun & this lovely couple made it even better

Allison & Shawn {Chicago Engagement Session}

This isn’t your ordinary engagement session. This couple is all about uniqueness, creativity & being offbeat. Soooo offbeat, that Allison told me they were thinking of having a Steampunk theme wedding. I’ve never heard of steampunk before until I googled it & saw photos. I immediately knew this wasn’t going to be just any ordinary wedding. I wish I had the opportunity to photograph more “unique” brides like Allison. She told me that her fiance Shawn was all about it & even getting involved in the wedding planning! When I heard they live in Chicago, I knew I just had to shoot their engagement session in the windy city. Months of planning on locations around the city all came together one gorgeous spring day!

Thank you for such a kick ass weekend, Allison & Shawn! See you in November!

April showers, spring sessions & Miami Vice…

Umm I’m not even gonna talk about how my last blog post was from March. And how I totally skipped posting anything for the month of April. And that it’s now May. Nahhh, we won’t go there. But I will go to talk about all the recent spring sessions I’ve been a little preoccupied with {even though it rained the majority of the month!} Numerous senior sessions, engagement sessions, weddings, a fun trip to Chicago for an out of this world engagement session with my steampunk bride & groom & last but not least, a trip to the Dominican Republic to shoot a destination wedding & Trash the Dress session! Oh yeah!!!! {Whew! It’s been just a tad bit crazy here!!!!!}

Here are a few photos from recent sessions. I want to thank all my clients who have been patiently waiting on viewing their photos. This time of year is one of my busiest times & I’m a little overwhelmed. More like blessed, thankful & overwhelmed! I even put my hubby to work a little bit. He enjoyed it…Enjoy some photos from La Romana, Dominican Republic! {And if you don’t know what a Miami Vice is–then you need to try one right away! Preferably on the beach} :)

Angela {maternity/belly to baby}

I will never forget the email & phone call from Angela wanting to talk to me about scheduling her maternity session ASAP. She was due within a few short weeks & didn’t want to miss the opportunity of having her maternity session. Luckily, we had a beautiful sunny spring like day to get outside at Tower Grove Park & make that happen. But first we started in the babys nursery & I loved everything about the room. Every little detail–curtains, crib, blankets, decorations–everything that I would want my “future” baby’s room to be like. The natural light pouring through the windows couldn’t have been more perfect for pictures!

Angela & Michael will be first time parents…they can’t wait for Hazel to arrive!

They wanted to include the pooches for a few shots of course! They were so playful & fun!

So I told you I’m behind in blogging from 2010 sessions…I’ve been planning this session for a few months with my sister & mom. We were picking up old vintage items here & there at flea markets & antique malls. I had ideas of what I wanted to create, but wasn’t sure how it was going to look until we had it all sitting out & the creative minds started working! This was my 1st attempt at a styled session like this and I loved every little thing about it…down to every detail.

When Jordan told me his family had this old bed sitting around & asked if I wanted to use it, I told him no because I didn’t want him to drag it out & put it all together. But he insisted & I’m glad he did! Just minutes later, it was set up & I loved how it looked in this field.

The things you do to get a shot! {and yes, I was scared for my life. It doesn’t look like I was up that high, but when you’re trying to balance sitting on a 3 inch wide piece of metal in flip flops, a lens bag & camera–now that’s talent!}
